For quite a while, my shooting with Leyla (@ ONEeins) hang in the balance. We had difficulties finding a date with a planned make-up artist – we finally even did it without her and a good friend of Leyla, Ebru, did hair and make-up for us. After some really nice days I was looking forward to our shooting, but guess what? It was heavily raining. Despite the weather I decided to drive to her, still hoping it would become better. Luckily, as soon as we arrived on location it stopped raining (well, at least most of the time – we had some breaks under the umbrella). Our location was a closed quarry with beautiful stone walls and some little copses.
I really like the outcome, because I find Leyla’s face really stunning. I think she’s not necessarily beautiful in a common sense, since she has a very distinctive and strong face – but I love her. Special thanks go to my little sister who was holding the reflector almost all the time.

Website updated

Today some technical news: I changed my website a little bit (landscape format thumbnails, more focus on shootings than on a general gallery stream: see for yourself) and I removed 377 pictures. This means more than 40% of all images. After that late-summer-cleaning I feel very relieved. On the one hand I know I should select more carefully (I’m not the best at choosing pictures, not at all). On the other hand I sometimes need time to define my relationship to a certain image. Is it just a one-night stand or will there be a silver wedding? I will try to find a compromise in the future.
Furthermore, I’m leaving for two weeks on Saturday – France is awaiting me and my family – and I hope I will be able to update my website with new pictures before. My sister (see my pictures of her) will be with me and I’m so looking forward to take some pictures of her. At the moment she has rather short hair and her curls are curlier and lovelier than ever!

Carolin and Viktor got married at the end of May. After weeks of rain there was one beautiful, sunny and warm day – their wedding. I had the pleasure to accompany them from the first morning hours until the night, trying to capture the key moments and those little things everybody tends to miss during such a big event. Of course we did some classical shots, too, but even it was so hard and exhausting, in the end I love those side shots even more. The crying bride, the sleeping child, the hands holding each other. I could show you gazillion pictures, but I leave it for now. See five collages behind the link above.
Thank you for your confidence to let me capture this unique day for you.
