Untold stories of fallen leaves.

It is the beginning of a movie. The camera starts very close, focusing on the book and the beautiful ornaments on its cover. Slowly it moves upwards, some leaves begin to show, then some curls. Next the girl lying next to the book comes into sight, her fragile and long fingers, her sensual lips, the almost transparent shirt. The camera keeps going upwards, includes the bushes and trees around her. Everything becomes smaller and smaller until finally she is hidden under the crowns of the still bare trees in whose leaves she is bedded.
I wish I could have done this scene but now at least it’s written down and cannot be forgotten. Thank you so much for being such an inspiration, Katharina!

Neon on my naked skin, passing silhouettes.

I’m sure I’ve said it plenty of times before but since I experience it over and over again: you don’t need huge preparations – if the magic happens, it does so no matter how much or less you have prepared in advance. Of course it’s always individual whether other people also enjoy the final outcome but for me this is only secondary. Most important is my feeling towards the pictures and regarding this shooting with Sina I have (once again) only very positive ones. So see for yourself and tell me what you think – do you like to prepare a lot or do you rather leave it to chance what happens?

Il commence à faire sombre.

Actually it didn’t begin but it was dark for such a long time that I almost didn’t know anymore how it feels when the sun tickles your nose. How it looks when you have bright light and dark shadows and not only a diffuse and dim light. So somehow the session with Anna-Lisa brought all this to a closure when we went to her attic, beautiful but with small windows allowing only a small portion of the already few light to enter. It was cold and not very cosy but that did not derogate her amazing beauty and dedication. Now that I’m uploading the pictures they are already more than a month old and in the meantime we took some more, which doesn’t happen very often for me. A huge thanks to you! (:

Sometimes you just have to be lucky and you meet not only a very talented photographer (Julia aka zweifellos mondbetont) but also a beautiful model and friend. Thus it was a very special shooting – usually I connect only while taking pictures and not before, so I had to overcome a certain shyness. But for me, the outcome was totally worth it. The pictures tell a story about my love for the sea. They tell silently how it is to be longing for something with your heart and soul when it is so far away that you can most of the time only dream about it. At least they tell that to me – I’m curious what they whisper to you.
Titles have been “donated” by Cat Power and her wonderful song “The Greatest”.

I spotted Anna on an online model platform and even though she didn’t have many pictures, my curiosity was piqued immediately, so I asked her for a shooting. During taking pictures she moved so naturally, giving me exactly what I was looking for and even more, hence I was surprised when she told me that this was in fact her very first semi-professional shooting. I’m super happy to have found her and I hope we’ll meet again under nicer weather conditions even though chocolate and tea kept us warm long enough to create a series of pictures which I like a lot. Isa. She has been so very, very important for me and my photography and she will always be, even though now hundreds of kilometers are separating us. In November we celebrated a short but lovely reunion, visited my favorite hill-mountain-thing close to my former home and found this amazing spider-like tree on which she balanced over a steep slope. And yet she managed to look gorgeous again. Thank you so much!

Clara. I was and still am in love. It’s her face, those breathtaking eyebrows, but most of all it is her presence that makes me fall in love over and over again. The is no doubt, not for a split second, not for the blink of an eye, that she is there with all her mind and body. Thank you for freezing, for trusting, for understanding and for one of the most beautiful songs I’ve heard in a while. I hope to meet you again, rather sooner than later.

Three months without taking pictures… I don’t know exactly how that happened but man, I missed it! Good that I found Marie and she was willing to join me for another walk through our nice city park. With autumn at its final stage, we had beautiful backdrops, but also my beloved Elbe was included for the first (and for sure not the last) time. We also discovered this amazing tree struck by a lightning and overall it’s just great how many different spots you can find within a short walking distance. I think they created this park just for us photographers. ;)

I wish I could make this sound less superficial because I believe that this does not only happen because of outer beauty. Seeing a lot of pretty girls, only in a small number I can recognize that little extra which is inspiring me, making me feel nervous, happy and blessed at the same time.
