It might not have been the best day for taking pictures, but nevertheless it was a pleasure working with such a brave and beautiful girl like Marlene. Neither rain nor snow nor cold could stop her from being awesome.
In the beginning it was raining like crazy (and we were already searching for a nice café to sit in), switching to springlike sunshine in one moment…

…and something like snow in the next one.

Overall the wind was carrying away all the warmth. But what I realized especially during this shooting: Photography is one of the very few things which are able to completely empty my mind, hiding all kind of thoughts and just focus my senses on the person in front of my camera. I am thankful for that, it might be useful one day.

A wonderful coincidence brought us together – I know Margarita’s images for many years and just two days before I went to Berlin (and was searching for models) she wrote me a message. And we agree – sometimes the less plans you make the better results you get. Just see the complete series on my website and enjoy every detail of her fascinating face.

Eventually the day me and my camera had been waiting for impatiently came. It was the last Sunday of February and time to take new pictures after a break because of my move to Magdeburg. Anne paid me a visit; I had met her for the first time a couple of months ago on a rainy day in Berlin. Now she was the first girl to see my new flat and we also took the opportunity to take some photos indoors. In the past my flat had been too small, too dark and too crowded with unphotogenic stuff. In the end we also went outdoors to catch the sunset but I feel more and more comfortable taking pictures indoors. Thank you so much for that and even more! :-)

Back in January almost my whole life had been packed into boxes. It was time for me to move to Magdeburg, but I could not leave without some pictures of Isabel. I met her for the first time in May 2009 and have been in love with her ever since. We created many of my all-time favourite pictures together because she is not only beautiful but so easy and great to work with. Everything I write sounds pathetic, so please, just have a look at our photos and fall in love yourself. :)

The first day after my last diploma exam (in December) Maria came and visited me. The weather was horrible, it was raining all day, so smart girls take the car and drove uphill until the rain became snow. Lots of snow. It was snowing really hard and very quickly her hair became wet so all in all we had half an hour to shoot some pictures. It’s difficult for me to let the “magic” happen in such a short period of time while always being in a hurry. But I’m so glad I met her before I left to Magdeburg and she left to Canada. And after all it was a great afternoon, no matter how many pictures we took – thank you!

What feels best is not only to take beautiful pictures but to have them used (in an appropriate way). So taking promo pictures for Daniel Schmidts solo project “Djitó” was great. I would love to meet the guy who held Diana off modelling – how could he?! She’s not that kind of treasure which should be kept in a secret chest.
Her amazing red hair, the gorgeous heart-shaped hairline, her delicate hands and spine and the freckles all over her face and arms – I love every millimetre of her. But not only the genes did like her, she’s also such a beautiful person and I could spend all day with her. Thank you for your trust and everything else. Hope to see you again very soon!

This is beautiful Anna who visited me in October and we shared a lovely afternoon. She hasn’t got any modelling experience but during our session she really came to life and managed to relax in front of my camera. The picture’s mood is dreamy once again but this shouldn’t make you think we didn’t have fun… :)

I keep getting e-mails from people asking which software I used to create my website. And I’m really sorry for all of them because the only thing I can tell them is that I did it myself. Everything. The design as well as the small CMS behind it. Only this blog is a WordPress blog because I became lazy over the years. ;)

Even though I’m mostly happy with my website I’m constantly rethinking the concept. If you click on one of the pictures in this post you’ll see the large version with a hand-picked background colour – and I’m not sure how many of my visitors explore this view (which in fact exists for every picture on my website). And because this individual colour always brings the pictures to life I want to have it on the main site, too. Any ideas how to do this? I’m sure you know some inspirational photography websites – show me, please!

Since we met twice in winter, we now wanted to do the complete opposite – flowers. So we met at Volkspark Prenzlauer Berg, picked lots of flowers and stuff and made two lovely girdles of flowers. I just love her face and how the flowers emphasize its best features.
